The new Marvel trailer features a superhero team known as the Midnight Suns. Writer Ethan Sachs and artist Luigi Zagaria are bringing Marvel’s mystical defenders together in a new limited series this September, with an all-star lineup that includes Blade, Kushala (Ghost Rider aka Spirit Rider), Magik, Wolverine, Nico Minoru, and strange academyZoe Laveau. Together, they must face a threat linked to Doctor Strange, who passed away in the Death of Doctor Strange series of events. The primary target of this threat is young mystic student Zoe Laveau, and the series promises to affect the very fabric of magic in the Marvel Universe.
Characters like Agatha Harkness, Doctor Doom, Strange Academy students and more will be influenced by the deep secrets that are revealed in midnight sun. The trailer shows much of the struggle going on on the Strange Academy campus as Zoe’s life hangs in the balance.
“This series has some twists and turns that pay homage to the things I love about this type of Marvel Universe,” Sachs said. CBR in a recent interview. “This is my first book with magic. It was great gameplay with some of those fantasy elements and some real-world horrors interconnected via an allegory. These things made me a fan of Dr. Strange and the original Midnight Sons. It was such a blessing to play in this part of the sandbox.”
The original Midnight Boys were a team of superhero defenders created by Howard Mackie and Andy Kubert in 1992. Ghost rider No. 31. Their membership has included the likes of Ghost Riders Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, Morbius, Hellstrom, Werewolf by Night and Doctor Strange.
